Did my own remix of FlyingHyrax's Elementary Skin for Rainmeter. As with the original skin you should use the latest beta of rainmeter with it.

Version 1.5.2:
- Fixed substitutes for news skin, thanks to Steven von Bargen

Version 1.5.1:
- Fixed News skins to really open the associated web page on click
- Added new system skin using visual items instead of text
- Added “Do I need a jacket skin” – original by FlyingHyrax

Version 1.5:
- Gmail skin displays up to 5 mail subjects from the inbox and the important label
- Added ZDF and ARD news skins
- Fixed default album art for music skin

Version 1.41.1 fixes some minor issues.

Comments & Critique is most welcome!

Added a second color, changed the main font and added a separate Languages folder (Currently english + german).
Also added:
A GMail Inbox Counter
A Google News Skin
A Google Weather Skin
A Now Playing Skin

All configuration is done via the Variables.inc

Thanks to FlyingHyrax ([link]) for the original skin: Elementary 1.41 [link]

Also Thanks to the author of the font:
Bernd Montag [link]

Is there a way to change the news to google tech news?
Reply
:iconjackdmf:
If you've got a parseable URL for Google Tech news, yes.
The current URL is: www.google.com/ig/api?news=&am…
where #language# is replaced with your language from variables.inc (e.g. de)

Since google recently removed their Google Weather API, I have this in my variables.ini.

; WEATHER
location=YVR
locationgoogle=

YVR is the closest airport to me, but It just tells me the temperature is "0" if I use that. Putting in my Canadian ZIP code in the format A1B2C4 doesn't work either. Any clue what else I should try?

Also wondering how to configure DINAJ, the settings file it tells me should be there doesn't exist so I assume you have it grabbing the Location variable from your own variables.ini, but I don't see any of the other settings there (which temperature hot, moderate, cold, etc).

location should not be (as noted below) the weather code from yahoo, but your city's clear name. As in "Rome, Italy" (maybe you can leave the country out)

Figured out how to fix DINAJ, it sources it's weather data from the Yahoo API which, unlike the Google one, is still up and running. I added in the necessary variables (which I found inside the DINAJ skin file) to my variables.ini and it's now working. I suppose I'll need to somehow convert your other weather skins to the Yahoo API if I want them to work but I'm not entirely familiar with the syntax / code Rainmeter uses so I don't know how to do it.

What I added:

locationyahoo=yourlocation
unit=C
freezeTemp=5
coldTemp=10
hotTemp=15

Hi,
obviously I forgot those variables in the variables.inc
I'm very sorry about that. And I know about the fact that Google's weather is missing. Will update to wunderground.com soon. (Soon = when it's done ;) )

You need to use the yahoo location for the other two weather skins, i think.

Hi!
